What are the transaction fees?
Sodium charges a platform fee as a percentage of your vendor commission — not the product price. The rate depends on your plan: 25% on Starter, 20% on Growth, and 15% on Scale. There are no hidden fees, no per-transaction charges, and no payment processing markups. You keep the rest of your commission.
Why can't I get my own app on Starter?
Apple rejects "template apps" (many similar apps from one developer). On Growth, your community runs inside our shared Container App but looks 100% like yours with your branding. On Scale, we publish to YOUR App Store account.
Can I set my own vendor commission?
Yes! You decide how much vendors pay you (0-30%). Sodium takes a cut of YOUR commission, not the vendor's. Higher commission = more revenue for you AND Sodium. We're aligned. Your vendors only see one fee—the commission you set.
How fast are vendor payouts?
With Sodium's managed Stripe Connect, vendors get paid within 2-7 business days. With your own payment gateway (BYOPG), you control payout timing directly. Digital products and established sellers qualify for faster payouts.
Is there a cap on platform fees?
Yes. As your marketplace grows, your effective fee rate decreases. On Scale plans, you can negotiate custom rates based on volume. We want our pricing to reward growth, not penalize it. Contact us for high-volume custom pricing.
What happens to my data?
Your data stays yours. Unlike Facebook or Instagram, we never sell your community data or show third-party ads. Each tenant gets their own isolated database. We don't mix your data with anyone else's.
What if I outgrow my plan?
Upgrade anytime with no downtime or data loss. Higher tiers mean a lower platform fee (25% → 20% → 15%). We'll even email you when upgrading makes financial sense based on your transaction volume.
Can I migrate my existing community?
We can help you migrate from other platforms. Scale plan includes hands-on onboarding support to get your community moved over.
